

To be able to use Network Groups from Active Directory you have to increase the timeout for replies from the server, otherwise the request will fail and the user can not log in. Using Network Groups from Active Directory (egroups in CERN speak) does not work out of the box. Please contact the Service Desk if you encounter a problem with an application or a service. OS X EL CAPITAN 10.11.6 CHANGES MAC OS X
With the release of macOS 10.14 in September 2018 Mac OS X 10.11 is considered obsolete and unsupported. Apple has published a list of 68 vulnerabilities in OS X 10.11.6 for which there is no security update other than 10.12 Sierra. It has been superseeded by macOS 10.12 Sierra on September 20th, 2016. Mac OS X 10.11 became available from the Mac App Store on September 30th, 2015. The information below is for historical reference only.
